Mr. Majestyk was written early in Elmore Leonard's novel writing career. It's a solid workmanlike job. I enjoyed the movie with Charles Bronson in it although I saw it more than 40 years ago. The book is good--although the territory does get littered with a few dead bodies and I wondered how Mr. Majestyk was able to walk away from all that carnage.
